Description
The Carnival Legend is a 294m long Spirit class cruise ship in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. The vessel was built in Finland and entered service in 2002. The Atlantic deck on the ship has an 'Enchanted forest' themed promenade featuring various legends from across the globe.
Destinations
Carnival Legend cruises from the port of Tampa, in Florida. The cruise is usually a seven days trip from Tampa to the Western Caribbean. During the seven days the ship harbors at various ports such as Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman, Belize City, Honduras, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Mexico.
History
Carnival Legend was built at Helsinki, Finland at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards Inc. shipyard. The ship was launched in August 2002 and its maiden voyage had famous female actor Judi Dench, a proud godmother to Carnival Legend. The cruise is the third of the Spirit class ships in the Carnival fleet..
Dining
Carnival Legend dining options include fine restaurants, pool side bars and snack bars, a new York style Deli, a pizzeria, with a variety cuisines to suit all tastes. The dining restaurants include Truffles restaurant, Lido restaurant, Asian Corner, Tastes of the nation, Golden Fleece Steakhouse and a Sushi bar. Bars on the ship include the Dream Team Sports bar, Piano bar and Unicorn bar. Other places include a grand buffet , a Legend Café and Unicorn café.
Entertainment
There are several lounges on board such as Fire bird lounge, Follies main lunge, Atlantis lounge and Odyssey lounge. Adults on the cruise can also check out the Satchmo’s jazz club, or the Club Merlin Casino, the cruise also has a private adults only Serenity pool. The kids on the Legend are taken care of too at places like Camp Carnival, Circle C and Club O2. There is also the Unicorn pool, Avalon pool and a kids pool
Carnival Legend has a whole deck dedicated to health and relaxation, where guests can enjoy the Carnival spa, the massage room, relaxation room, a steam and a sauna. There is also a gym, an aerobics center, a jogging track, even a basket ball court and a mini golf course court. Another popular spot for both kids and adults who want to feel like kids is the Gigabyte Video Arcade gaming center.
Cabins
The Carnival Legend suites are sized at nearly 500 sq ft and 300 sq ft, the suites also have a list of luxuries and amenities. A large percentage of the staterooms are balcony cabins. The Ocean view staterooms and the interior cabins are much smaller in size at less than 200 sq ft.
