NORWEGIAN DAWN FACTS

Description
Norwegian Dawn entered service in 2002, and is the second of the Norwegian Cruise Line classified as the Libra Class. She is sister ship to the Norwegian Star, which entered service the previous year. Norwegian Dawn has with hull art featuring the Statue of Liberty, adding to its beauty. She was built at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg in Germany.

Destinations
The Norwegian Dawn’s cruises to the Bahamas, Canada, The Caribbean and New England. Most of the trips begin from either New York or Miami Florida anchoring at various famous ports on their way.

History
Norwegian Dawn as designed and built at Papenburg, Germany at Meyer Werft shipyard and was completed in 2002. It was to begin its operations and go by the name Super Star Scorpio with the Star Cruise, however that changed an she was assigned to the Norwegian Cruise Line, and had its grand opening at Manhattan by Kim Catrall. The R Family Vacations by Rosie O’Donnell was filmed on this cruise in 2003.

Dining
Known for its ‘Freestyle Dining experience’ the Norwegian Dawn offers a variety of cuisine options from Continental, to ethnic cuisines with restaurants like - Cagney's Steak House, Le Bistro French Restaurant, the Blue Lagoon, Bamboo - A Taste of Asia, Sushi and Sashimi Bar, Salsa Tapas Bar, the Pearly Kings Pub, Java Café, Aqua Main Restaurant to name a few. A host of restaurants, dining rooms, buffet, and ice cream lounges cocktails bars, pubs and pizzeria.

Entertainment
The Stardust theatre is built on the lines of a European Opera house that expands from deck 5 to 7in height, where performances like comedy shows and various celebrity shows are held. One can also find variety under the recreation section with a host of options such as the oasis pool, a card room, lifestyle room, a T-Rex kid’s centre, a video zone, a teen club, a Havana club.

For passengers inclined to health and fitness the cruise provides an El Dorado Spa and fitness centre. The other options to choose from are lap pools, hot tubs, saunas and Jacuzzi. It also makes room for a walking and jogging track. There is a basket ball court and a volleyball court too.

Cabins
Cabin accommodation includes Balcony Staterooms , with an open yet private balcony. The Ocean view Staterooms are also built to provide that spacious yet comfortable feel. Accommodations on the cruise also include an Obstructed Ocean View and Inside Stateroom . All cabins have colourful interiors decorated with Cherry wood. A luxurious Garden villa 5000 sq ft giving that grand and spacious feel with living, dining, and bedrooms, with attached whirlpool tubs and large bathroom space. Other suite accommodation options include an Owner’s suite and Penthouse suites.
