STATENDAM FACTS

Description
Statendam, from Holland America Line, belongs to the Statendam class. The ship was built to accommodate up to 1200 passengers and weighs 55,000 tons and cruises at a speed of 22 knots. The huge three deck atrium is afocal point of the ship. The interiors have a touch of Dutch culture and history.

History
Statendam was built at Fincantieri ship yard in Italy entered service 1993. The ship was awarded the “Ship of the year” in 1995 by World Ocean and Cruise Liner Society.
Dining
The dining options include the Rotterdam dining room, Lido bar & restaurant, Canaletto restaurant, the Ocean’s bar and the Dolphin’s bar, the Pinnacle and the Terrace Grill.
Entertainment
The Wajang Theatre on the cruise, hosts shows for entertainment and good session of laughter. The Culinary arts centre entertains its passengers with the cookery lessons. Passengers also have the option of visiting a wine tasting and gourmet store, a casino and the Crow’s Nest night club too.
The children and teens on the cruise can hang out at Club HAL, the Loft and the Video Arcade. The famous lounges on the cruise are Exploration’s lounge, the Neptune lounge, Ruben’s lounge and Van Gogh lounge. The Statendam’s Sports deck and Lido deck are places for a spa and other sports activities. The Lido deck has a Greenhouse Spa, a fitness centre, an aerobics centre, a massage room and a thermal suite. The sports deck has a practice Tennis court and a basket ball court.

Cabin accommodation includes Interior staterooms, Ocean-view staterooms, Verandah Suites and Deluxe Verandah Suites.
