PRINSENDAM FACTS

Description
Holland America Line’s Prinsendam, which means ‘Princess’, is a Vista-class vessel. She was built in 1988 as the Royal Viking Sun sailing under the Royal Viking cruise line. The centre piece of Prinsendam is the three deck atrium a Bolle glass cylinder with carvings of dolphins, turtles and fish. Another noteworthy work of art on the cruise is the Viking ship sculpture by Nicholas Widerburg, a modern Norwegian artist and the Amphorae, a part of the cruise’s Roman collection.

Prinsendam cruises to the Caribbean, South America, Mediterranean, Europe and Canada.
History
Prinsendam was in service in 1988 as the Royal Viking Sun under the royal Viking cruise line. From here, she was moved to Cunard Royal Viking, cruising round the globe. In 1999, she was taken by Seabourn Cruise line and was named ‘Seabourn Sun’. In 2002, she was acquired by Holland America Line and was christened Prinsendam.
Dining
Prinsendam’s dining options include The La Fontaine Dining Room that includes all three meals, Lido Restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, Odyssey Restaurant gourmet Italian fiesta, a Java café, Crow’s nest bar, Ocean bar, Pinnacle and Terrace Grill, Neptune Lounge, Queen’s Lounge and Explorer’s Lounge.
Entertainment
The entertainment on the Prinsendam ship begins at the Wajang Theatre which is a high tech area that provides entertainment like singing, dancing and various other shows. There is a Culinary arts centre which serves as a place to enhance one’s culinary skills through the lessons and tips given by famous chefs. Half Moon Room is for those who like to gamble and play cards and a Lido pool and an ocean pool a place for fun and merriment with loved ones.
Prinsendam’s fitness, pampering and spa experience is situated on the Upper Promenade with a Greenhouse spa, a fitness centre, therapy rooms, saunas, steam rooms, a beauty salon and a jogging track which is situated on the Sports deck. The Sports deck also features a Bocce ball court and Croquet Court.
Cabins
Cabin accommodation includes ocean view staterooms, balcony staterooms, obstructed view staterooms. Suite accommodation includes Penthouse Verandah suites, Deluxe Verandah Suites, Superior Verandah suites.
