Carnival Cruise Lines was founded in 1972 in Florida.  It is best known for having the largest fleet in North America which is comprised of 20 vessels.  Carnival Cruise Lines is dubbed and more popularly known as “The Fun Ships”.    The fleet is easily recognizable with its legendary blue, red and white funnel which is shaped like a tail of a whale.

For several years now, Carnival Cruise Lines has been awarded constantly by the Porthole Cruise Magazine’s Reader’s Choice awards with several distinctions such as Best Megaship award and Best Value-for-Money Award.  It has also been recognized as having among the best shore excursions and on board entertainment.  In fact, it boasts of having a total of 101 awards to date.

Fleet and Destinations

Carnival Cruises’ 20 vessels are divided into 7 classes according to the vessels’ sizes – the Dream Class, the Fantasy Class, the Destiny Class, the Triumph Class, the Conquest Class, the Splendor Class and the Spirit Class.  Each class of Carnival ships offer the same quality of service, facilities and amenities.  One of the more popular ships is the Carnival Conquest which travels to Eastern and Western Caribbean.  The Carnival Dream which is Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest ship is designed to be one of the largest  floating resorts. This ship boasts of the largest spa ever built, a huge outdoor deck, very large staterooms  and  an enormous entertainment center and it offers cruises to Eastern and Western Caribbean. Another popular ship in the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet is the Carnival Valor which is considered to be the biggest “Fun Ship”.  The Carnival Valor is based in Miami, Florida.  It sails to Eastern and Western Caribbean and it is the number one choice in Caribbean cruising for tourists.

Carnival Cruises have several destinations which include Alaska, Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Hawaii, the Mexican Riviera, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States of America.
